Ruvini is an associate in our Wellington intellectual property team. She enjoys collaborating with clients in the development of their brands and products and has extensive experience assisting clients to secure and protect their rights as they take their brands to the world.
Ruvini has worked with local businesses of all sizes across a variety of industries, including agriculture, horticulture, agritech, fashion, food service and skincare. She has also advised multinational food and pharmaceutical manufacturers, software developers and consumer technology companies.
Ruvini was drawn to intellectual property law by the stories of the businesses behind the brands, and how those stories can be encapsulated within a brand.
Early in her IP career, she worked as a Trade Mark Examiner at the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand and so is well positioned to advise clients on how best to deal with and respond to IPONZ’s procedures and policies.
Ruvini has assisted many clients to resolve a wide range of disputes, measuring success in terms of resolutions without the need for legal proceedings. She aims to provide pragmatic, tailored, relatable advice delivered in a form which clients can easily understand and act on.
Ruvini has considerable experience prosecuting trade mark applications and securing registrations for clients in both New Zealand and Australia. During her 12 years working in the intellectual property field, she has also established a wide network of associates overseas whom she can call on to assist her local clients when they choose to set their focus further afield.
