Nicole leads our banking team. She is also co-leader with James McMillan of our insolvency and restructuring team.

Nicole assists clients with a broad range of financing transactions, helping them to lend and borrow money, both within New Zealand and internationally. Her specialist areas included acquisition finance, working with lenders or borrowers in relation to arranging finance to buy businesses, and project finance. Nicole also helps growing businesses get the finance they need to expand.  

Nicole works with banks and New Zealand companies and has recently started advising on the financing of retirement villages. She also works with trustee companies on structured transactions.

Nicole brings a global perspective to her work. Prior to joining Kensington Swan, she was a partner at leading international law firm Linklaters LLP.

  • New Zealand’s largest banks on corporate facilities, acquisition finance, retirement village financing, product development, terms and conditions, documentation, and other matters.
  • a New Zealand-registered international bank on takeover financing for more than $300 million.
  • corporate trustees and banks on debt capital market transactions. 
  • PPPs on the financing aspects of projects in New Zealand and London. 
  • an international professional services firm on its $40 million refinancing.
  • a significant non-bank lender on its syndicated facilities.
  • Auckland Council(while at another firm) on its $1 billion syndicated facility arranged by a major Australasian bank, its $500 million secured commercial paper programme, $500 million medium-term note programme, and $4 billion retail bond programme.
