SELECT COMMITTEE APPROVES PROPOSED CHANGES TO RESOURCE CONSENT PROCESSES

It is now expected that the Resource Legislation Amendment Bill 2015 ('Bill') will be passed in substantially the form it was reported back from the Local Government and Environment Select Committee, following agreement being reached with the Maori Party to support it at the Third Reading stage.

This is the second in a series of articles taking a more in depth look at aspects of the RMA reforms as reported back from the Select Committee. It focuses on the proposed changes to resource consent processes, some of which have been 'toned down' in the Select Committee report.
