Brendan has been invited to join the partnership, and will play an integral role in meeting client needs in the infrastructure sector. Brendan will be formally appointed as a partner once the New Zealand Law Society’s requirements are fulfilled.
Brendan is an experienced construction and commercial litigator, successfully partnering with clients in their dispute resolution strategies for large scale infrastructure projects and major commercial and multi-unit residential projects. He has overseen litigation proceedings in the Weathertight Homes Tribunal, District Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
Charles Spillane, Kensington Swan’s chief executive officer, says, “Brendan’s experience and demonstrated skill in delivering outcomes for clients in what can be very difficult and trying circumstances represents exactly the sort of service we want our clients to experience. He is the perfect match for our clients and rounds out the structure of our construction team in Wellington.
Brendan’s appointment also strengthens Kensington Swan’s national construction practice which will see senior leadership in the team grow to four partners and two special counsel this year. This level of capability is core to executing our strategy to support the ever-growing importance of the infrastructure sector in New Zealand.
