Earthquake strengthening and fit-out
We drafted a number of consultant agreements and construction contracts for the private owner of a Wellington CBD building undergoing both earthquake strengthening of the entire building, and new office and retail fit-outs of several floors. The challenges included the need for retail businesses and office tenants to continue operating during the project.
Government head office
We acted for a large Government department in negotiations with developers regarding the construction and fit-out of a new head office in Wellington. Ensuring the department received the most appropriate and cost-effective result required negotiations with multiple developers.
World-class tennis facility
We acted for an Australian sports developer/owner in the development of a world-class tennis facility in Auckland. This included preparing layered leasing arrangements, drafting and reviewing construction and development contracts, making an Overseas Investment Act application, and negotiating with local sporting bodies. In addition, we assisted the client to achieve a project goal of hosting a major tournament during the construction period.
