salt™ Employment Relations

As an employer you need a good understanding of employment law. The Employment Relations Act 2000 prescribes the legal obligations of parties to an employment relationship, including employers, employees and their relevant unions.

Course Content

The underlying principle of The Employment Relations Act 2000 is the obligation of good faith between employer and employee in all facets of their relationship. A party to an employment relationship who fails to comply with the duty of good faith is liable to a penalty under the Act.

Personal grievance claims can result in costly awards being made against employers in the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court . In addition to this, the negative publicity resulting from an employment dispute may have repercussions for the business or employer involved.

A lesson on the Holidays Act 2003 is also included in this course to provide information on your obligations  to employees in relation to holiday entitlements.
