Peter brings 20 years experience to his role as taxation partner in our Auckland office. Predominantly he operates in the corporate area providing tax and commercial advice in the course of acquisitions and reconstructions. He also has considerable experience in the front end of tax disputes, dealing with the Inland Revenue. He was keynote speaker at the 2005 Corporate and Finance Tax Seminar speaking on the subject of tax disputes and resolution.

  

Aside from tax issues Peter has also frequently acted on the commercial aspects of large transactions including advising Auckland Energy Consumer Trust on Vector’s acquisition of United Networks and the sale of Eldercare NZ to NZ Petroleum and its backdoor listing on the NZSE. He has also advised Tauranga District Council on the sale of its energy assets as well as working on the takeover of Ascot Mercy Hospital and the purchase of Rexam and many other corporates. Plus he has provided advice on numerous employee share schemes and succession plan arrangements.

    

In addition, he authored the business sale, share sale, amalgamation and takeovers sections of the Brookers Commercial Precedents.

     

He is a frequent contributor to the CCH NZ Tax Planning Reports and has on numerous occasions been a keynote speaker at local corporate and tax conferences.
