Nigel is a leader of Kensington Swan's banking and finance team and has advised both local and off-shore banks, financial institutions and corporates on a wide variety of finance related transactions.  These include loan facilities, securities, syndications, securitisations, workouts and capital markets transactions. 

       

Nigel has acted for the local offices of banks, such as ANZ Banking Group New Zealand Limited, National Bank of New Zealand Limited, The Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, finance companies and investment banks.  He has also acted for statutory managers and receivers in some of New Zealand's largest corporate insolvencies.

           

His recent experience includes:   

                     

Acting for United Overseas Bank Limited and Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited of Singapore as financiers of Delham Investments’ acquisition of Brierley Investments Limited.

                    

Advising Credit Suisse and other participants on their New Zealand securities relating to the financing of the Burns Philp and the Goodman Fielder takeovers.

                    

Acting as an advisor to the security trustee for noteholders under the securitisation programme operated by Retail Financial Services Limited.

                      

Advising Downer EDI, Hellaby Holdings Limited and other corporates on their banking and finance and capital markets transactions.

                           

Nigel has presented numerous seminars on banking and finance topics and written articles for National Business Review and the International Financial Law Review.
