Neil joined the firm in March 2003
having previously worked a major UK
law firm (spending time in London,
Glasgow,
Edinburgh
and Philadelphia).
He has a
broad corporate and commercial experience, in particular in the
mergers and acquisitions and private equity area.
Recent deals include the purchase
of:
 iHug by Vodafone
Duffill
Watts & King by Downer EDI Limited
and the sale of:
Argenta to ANZ Capital
Apollo Marketing to Carat
Evergreen
Forests to James Fielding Funds Management
Berill Control Systems Limited to ANZ Private
Equity
Neil also
recently advised CanWest MediaWorks (NZ)
Limited on the takeover offer made for it by Ironbridge
Capital.
Neil was seconded to HSBC New Zealand in 2003/2004 where he advised
on all aspects of their purchase of the AMP retail banking portfolio.
In addition Neil advises a number of
construction clients (including Giles Civil, Ebert Construction and
Kalmar Projects) on construction finance matters.
