Georgia is a
solicitor in both the Maori Legal Services and the Environment/Local
Government teams at Kensington Swan.
Environment and Local
Government
Georgia
has worked with major regional councils and territorial authorities
on environment and governance issues. She has also advised corporate
clients on due diligence reviews, planning and compliance, Building
Act matters and resource consent applications. Georgia
has assisted with preparation in appeals at Council Committee Hearing
level, Environment Court
and for the Court of Appeal.

Maori Legal Services
Georgia’s
university study focused on Maori legal issues, New Zealand history and
the sociology of indigenous peoples. She has a special interest in
the interplay between tikanga and law,
particularly where environmental and governance issues arise under Te
Tiriti o Waitangi. Thus she is well placed
to provide specialist advice for Maori clients in relation to
tribunal, local authority and Environment Court matters.
Georgia
concentrates primarily on advocacy – assisting whanau, hapu and iwi groups who are preparing claims for the
Waitangi Tribunal and submissions for Select Committee.
