Chris works cross all areas of general commercial and corporate law, with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and divestments for both local and overseas clients. 

 

This experience includes:

  

*Undertaking and managing due diligence processes for purchasers and vendors,

  

*Negotiation and preparation of sale and purchase agreements and ancillary acquisition documentation like shareholder agreements and put and call options,

  

*Involvement with regulatory clearance processes, especially the Overseas Investment Office.

   

Chris has also presented papers at a number of external conferences on mergers & acquisitions and risk management, and has co-authored chapters in two recent international mergers & acquisitions publications.

  

In the last 12 months Chris has been involved in engagements for HJ Heinz, Coca-Cola Amatil, Hellaby Holdings Limited, Hutchison Port Holdings Limited, and George Weston Foods (NZ) amongst others.    

    

Chris also has broad commercial experience negotiating a wide array of commercial arrangements for clients such as service, supply and outsourcing contracts.  This includes the recent tender process and subsequent negotiation of long term agreements for waste collection services for each of Waitakere and North Shore City Councils.

  

Chris is also interested in risk management, and has been involved in developing and reviewing risk management programmes for clients, including developing on-line risk management tools.
