Chris Booth is a Partner and head of Kensington
Swan’s Construction team in Auckland.
For the past 12
years Chris has worked exclusively in the building and construction
field and is equally at home providing “front end” advice
on building and construction tenders and contracts and advising and
appearing as counsel in mediations, adjudications, arbitrations and
court cases involving building and construction related disputes.
Chris is
familiar with all the New Zealand
and international standard form building and construction contracts.
He has experience in the drafting and negotiation of tender and
contract documents for a variety of projects including numerous roading and roading
maintenance contracts, wastewater treatment plants, geothermal powerplants and highrise
buildings.
In the case
of building and construction disputes, Chris has acted for employers,
consultants, head contractors, subcontractors and suppliers over the
past 20 years. These include tendering disputes, professional
negligence claims, claims for variations and time extensions, prolongation
and disruption claims, breaches of contract and termination disputes.

and writes regularly on construction law issues.
